Pixelize Web Images

Last updated: September 29, 2026

This policy explains how the Pixelize Web Images Chrome extension (the “Extension”) handles information when you use it to pixelize images from webpages and save results to its local gallery. It applies to the Extension, not to the websites that host images you choose.

Information the Extension processes

Webpage images and image URLs. On supported webpages, the Extension checks image elements and their dimensions so it can show the “Pixelate it” control for eligible images. When you click that control, the Extension uses the selected image’s URL and image data to create a pixelated preview.

Pointer and button interactions. The Extension handles pointer movement to detect when you are over an eligible image and uses clicks on its controls to open the editor or manage gallery items. It does not keep a history of pages visited, pointer movements, or clicks, and does not use these interactions for analytics or advertising.

Temporary editor handoff. When you open the editor, the selected image URL, the page origin, and the request time are briefly held in Chrome’s in-memory session storage so the Extension can pass the image from its service worker to the popup. The popup removes this temporary entry when it reads it. Chrome clears session storage when the Extension or browser session ends.

Local processing and storage

The Extension creates the pixelated preview in your browser. If you choose to save it, the resulting image is stored in IndexedDB in the Extension’s local browser profile. The gallery is not synced to an account or uploaded to PixelGridMaker. You can delete saved images from the gallery at any time.

Requests to image hosts

The Extension runs on a webpage only after you enable it for the current tab. To load a selected image, your browser requests it from the image’s original webpage or CDN URL. If the image is hosted on a different domain, the Extension asks you to grant access to that image host first. The browser may include credentials needed to retrieve the image when the host permits them. The image host may process the request under its own privacy policy and terms.

Sharing and analytics

PixelGridMaker does not receive or share your selected image, image URL, saved gallery, or interaction data. The Extension does not include analytics, advertising, or a remote service for storing your images.

Deleting your data

Use the delete control in the Extension’s gallery to remove a saved image. You can also clear the Extension’s local data through Chrome. Temporary editor handoff data is removed after the popup reads it and is held only in session storage.

Changes to this policy

If the Extension’s data practices change, this page will be updated. The date at the top shows when the policy was last revised.
